Originally by: Kaylana Syi The AC tempest at BS 5 is more versatile than a Maelstrom at 5. It still has 2 slots for utility/extra damage.
The Maelstrom's only useful setup I found with AC's involved 3 large shield extender IIs and 2 1600mm RT plates. Even the shield boosting Maelstrom can barely handle that setup.
As for fleet ships... the Shield Boost bonus is the only thing holding it back... well that and sub par damage.
8 1400mm II w. Tremmor L,
2 SB II 1 Tracking computer II 3 Large Shield Extender IIs
3 Gyro IIs 2 Tracking enhancer IIs
Here is me vs a snipe pest at 158km. You do the math.
3 shield extender II's and two 1600mm rt plates? uhm what exatly are you trying to do here? shield tank? armor tank? hp tank? I am lost. if you are trying to hp tank, you are probably better off dropping at least one of those shield extedners for an invuln field.
Hp are nothing w/o the resit to back them up.
